Six questions about existing battery evidence

  1. Which vehicle does the evidence refer to?

    Compare the vehicle reference, model and year with the car for sale. Ask the seller to explain any missing link. A screenshot without a vehicle reference leaves this question open.

  2. Where does the battery figure come from?

    Ask whether it comes from the vehicle display, a manufacturer read-out or a separate report. Its source should be identifiable in the evidence.

  3. Which method and provider are named?

    DEKRA describes a dynamic battery test and a Read-Out-Report without vehicle movement. Check which procedure the supplied report actually names; the method helps put the figure in context.

  4. When and under which conditions was it obtained?

    Look for the date, mileage and any conditions stated in the document. Ask about missing details; do not assume an older measurement represents today's condition without checking.

  5. What does our on-site check cover?

    We visually check accessible high-voltage components, warning labels, the charging port and available status displays. High-voltage components are not opened. Plus, including its VIN query and personal advice, does not include a specialist capacity test.

  6. Which battery question remains before you commit?

    Identify whether your purchase decision needs separate capacity evidence. Ask the relevant test provider which method fits and whether it supports the specific vehicle before relying on the result.
