What does a recent HU mean before buying?

The German statutory vehicle inspection (HU) assesses road safety, environmental compliance and compliance with regulations at the time of inspection. Before buying a used car, questions about its condition and available maintenance or damage records remain. Our mobile car check assesses accessible findings within the agreed scope; no vehicle lift is available on a mobile visit. It does not replace the HU.
